I know that they used to hunting dogs.but now can they
be use as lep dogs.
The American Cocker is pretty much worthless for hunting anymore since that instinct has been bred out of them for the most part. There are still some die hard ACS owners out there that think their dogs can run with an English Springer Spaniel or English Cocker Spaniel out in the field but it just isn't so.
Any dog can be used as a "lap dog" if you lap is big enough. Most ACS's are small enough (30 – 35 lbs) that they can fit on most laps. Why the question?

it depends on how they are raised…. if they are raised like you want them to be then yes, raise them like they are your child, love them and cherrish them, just don;t be rough or they will get fiesty.

They could if you wanted them to. Nothing says they cant be. Unless they are too big then i would call them couch dogs. So i think if you put them on your lap they will stay there. it depends on what type of personality though.

They are a little large for lap dogs. My english cocker loves to lay on top of my lap (along with my 2 pits). All four of us will lay together and watch tv at night.
